Archer Daniels Midland Company has acquired full ownership of Brazilian-based global ingredients natural flavours company Amazon Flavors, having previously held a 40 percent stake in the company.
Vince Macciocchi, President of ADM’s WILD Flavors and Specialty Ingredients business unit, says, “Brazil is a key market as we continue to grow our ingredient sales around the globe. Brazil is the largest food and beverage market in South America, and we look forward to working with the Amazon Flavors team to ensure that we are the go-to source for Brazilian food and beverage customers.”
The acquisition will see global company ADMC expand further into the Brazilian natural’s market, benefitting from Amazon’s production facilities in Manaus and product development and application laboratories in Manaus and São Paulo. Indeed, the creates natural extracts derived from the guarana plant and açai berries, as well as cola, energy and other compounds for the Brazilian beverage market.
