Adore Beauty targets Chinese market with Alibaba listing

One of Australia’s largest online cosmetics companies, Adore Beauty is set to launch onto the Chinese market, according to a report published by The Australian.

The company will sell some 50 products from an array of Australian brands via Alibaba’s Tmall site. For several of the brands, the Tmall listing will be the first time they have sold directly to Chinese consumers in the country, including evo, Lanolips, asap, Alpha-H, Skinstitut and Eleven.

“We are taking a test and learn approach. We are shipping out of Australia first before we look at shifting stock over to a bonded warehouse in China,” Adore Beauty founder and CEO Kate Morris told The Australian. “The Chinese market itself is pretty exciting and pretty huge. Particularly given the demand from Chinese consumers for high-quality Australian products, we think it has great potential.”
