Amorepacific becomes first Korean beauty company to join RE100

THE WHAT? Amorepacific has become the first Korean company to join the global RE100 initiative.

THE DETAILS The company has announced a goal to source 100 percent renewable energy to power all of its production sites and offices by 2030. 

Amorepacific is set to use advanced technologies at a lower temperature in order to achieve the 100 percent renewable energy goal, which will reduce the environmental impact in all of the development and production stages. 

Likewise, it will develop more low-carbon footprint products using ingredients and packaging materials with lower GHG emissions based on LCA (Life Cycle Assessment) results. According to a press release it will also ‘utilize 3rd party PPAs and green contracts operated by the Korean government.’

THE WHY?The company has been rapidly evolving its environmental strategy over the past few years.

By achieving the RE100 goal by 2030, we hope to contribute to international climate action. As a global corporate citizen, we will cooperate to reduce our carbon footprint.”
