THE WHAT? AmorePacific has named Kim Seung-Hwan as its next Group President, according to a report published by The Korea Herald.

THE DETAILS Kim will replace incumbent President Bae Dong-hyun as Group President early in 2021. Meanwhile, Jung Hye-Jin will head up the group’s Laneige unit.

Kim has held numerous senior roles across the K-beauty behemoth’s senior leadership, most recently as Head of Human Resources and his relatively young age, 51, is being couched as an asset.

THE WHY? Kim’s appointment is part of a wider leadership shuffle, The Korea Herald reports, aimed at stimulating growth after lackluster sales in the latest quarter.
