AmorePacific opens Green Tea research center

THE WHAT? AmorePacific has announced the opening of a Green Tea Probiotics Research Center to deepen the study of lactobacillus recently discovered in its Jeju organic green tea garden.

THE DETAILS The K-beauty behemoth’s R&D division discovered a green tea probiotic strain which facilitates green tea fermentation from green tea grown organically on Jeju Island in 2010.

A study conducted Professor Dr Wilhelm Heinrich Holzapfel and the AmorePacific R&D Center published in November confirmed that the probiotic strain from green tea leaves decreases the level of inflammation factors in the stomach.

THE WHY? The new center will continue to investigate and demonstrate the effects of this probiotic strain as well as develop innovative products in the health, cosmetics and other fields, specifically expanding its research into the microbiome space.
