AmorePacific reports record sales for 1H 2016; on track to smash KRW6 trillion target

AmorePacific has posted its best-ever performance for the first-half of the year, with net profit for the second quarter (April to June) reaching KRW246.7 billion, up 33 percent, according to a report published by Pulse.

Operating profit soared 27.1 percent to KRW309.7 billion, while sales were up 21.7 percent to KRW1.7 trillion compared to the same period last year.

The record second quarter was reflected in the company’s first half results, with operating profit leaping 29.1 percent to KRW728.8 billion, and sales climbing 21.8 percent to a record KRW3.5 trillion.

The K-beauty giant’s success was attributed to its overseas expansion with operating profit swelling 60 percent in foreign markets and global sales leaping 46 percent to KRW417.3 billion.
