Ansell files patent infringement lawsuit against Reckitt-Benckiser-owned Durex

Ansell has filed a lawsuit in the US, charging Reckitt Benckiser with infringing its patents for Dip-formed Synthetic Polyisoprene Latex Articles with Improved Intraparticle and Interparticle Crosslinks via the distribution of the Durex RealFeel condom.

Ansell is requesting a permanent injunction to prevent Reckitt Benckiser from importing the Durex RealFeel product into the US, selling, supplying or otherwise disposing of the Durex RealFeel product in the US or offering to do so. The company is also seeking damages, enhanced damages and costs.

The move forms part of Ansell’s global strategy to protect its intellectual property rights, which also saw the company file a patent infringement suit against Reckitt Benckiser in Australia in 2014.
