Hygiene materials producer AVINTIV is set to invest €25 million at two facilities in Europe. The first phase of the manufacturer’s investment plan was completed this summer, converting two meltblown units in Spain to increase capacity by 50 percent in response to the rising demand for spunmelt across Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
The second phase will be to develop the firm’s operation in Italy, adding a state-of-the-art carded line and upgrading a production line to allow for multi-layer products and extra spooling capacity.
The hygiene materials producer will also divert funds into an up-to-the-minute R&D and product testing facility to allow the company to enhance its current range as well as develop new innovative composite solutions from AVINTIV’s array of specialty materials.
“The investment underscores the importance the company places in increasing the performance of its Personal Care products through innovative spunmelt and carded technologies,” commented Jean Marc Galvex, President at EMEA at AVINTIV.
