A new international beauty training centre is due to open in Gloucestershire on April 14.
The International Beauty & Holistic Academy has been established by Julie Speed, former Director of Operations at UK beauty therapist insurance provider Babtac, who has developed the centre with business partner Debbie Moore.
The school will offer a full range of beauty and holistic qualifications in addition to a postgraduate finishing school for salon and spa teams and individuals.
Speed commented, “Before working for Babtac, I had my own experiences of students applying for jobs, who weren’t actually salon-ready but thought perhaps this was because of my own expectations. However, I learned that this problem was not unique to me. We realised there is a very real need for high quality training for both students starting out and those already trained.
The new school be adjacent to a beauty salon with experienced therapists where students will be given the opportunity to learn in a real-life salon scenario and put postgraduate training to the test.
“We’re also now working with a number of product houses, as well as with a number of established spas such as Calcot Manor, to upskill individuals in specific areas and ensure they truly are commercially aware. We are offering a gateway to a career anywhere in the world,” Speed added.
