Back to basics: Lush opens packaging-free store for UK market

Lush is going back to its roots with the inauguration of a ‘naked’ store for the UK market, according to a report published by Business Insider.

The Manchester store, which will open its doors at the end of this week, follows in the footsteps of trailblazers in Milan and Berlin where plastic packaging is persona non grata. Customers will be encouraged to bring their own bags, and plastic labels will be replaced with an app, so customers can scan products to look at the INKEY list.

“I think visitors to the ‘Naked’ shop will hopefully realise how easy it is just to either bring their own bags with them when they’re shopping or to make a better choice about how they’re taking products away,” a Designer for the brand told Business Insider.
