THE WHAT? Shisiedo has teamed up with R/GA Tokyo to create an installation that allows users to time travel in virtual reality, according to a report published by The Drum.
THE DETAILS Using decades of the J-beauty giant’s skin research as well as facial data capture and processing technology, the installation consists of a digital mirror that allows two people to see what they looked like in the past and what the future holds for their skin.
The 3D Facial Age Simulation Engine is described as ‘a scientifically-accurate aging simulation’ and is located at Shiseido’s global innovation center in Yokohama.
THE WHY? Naomi Yamamoto, Chief Creative Officer at Shiseido, told The Drum that the center’s purpose is to connect consumers to knowledge and technologies and this installation furthers that goal.
