Beiersdorf beats own guidance with positive 2017 organic growth

Beiersdorf has announced a 5.7 percent rise in organic group sales for 2017, beating its own 4-5 percent rise it had previously estimated.

Thanks to the positive results the Nivea parent company has stated it is positive for 2018, reporting particularly impressive growth from its consumer arm, including brands such as Nivea, Eucerin, Hansaplast and La Praire. Meanwhile the adhesives unit Tesa also reported positive results.

Chief Executive Officer Stefan Heidenreich said of the results, “While the global markets are expected to remain volatile and challenging, we have good reason to be cautiously optimistic as we start into 2018.”

The company’s organic sales rose to 7.1 billion euro, excluding exchange rates and investment and divestment impacts, rising from 6.8 billion in the comparable period of the previous year.
