Beiersdorf continues ‘knowledge transfer’ quest for dermatological health care with launch of Professor P.G. Unna Academy

Germany-based Beiersdorf is set to embark on increasing the exchange in the field of skin care between researchers and practising doctors with the goal of continuously developing dermatological health care, with the launch of the Professor P.G. Unna Academy.

The company is enlisting doctors and researchers in order to better its skincare offering to fully align with the needs of patients, and in January the Professor P.G. Unna Academy, an independent institution, was brought to life dedicated to the further education of doctors in dermatological indications.

Around 370 dermatologists attended the event, which took place in the Research Center on Troplowitzstraße in Hamburg, as well as in eleven additional event locations around the country, with the aim being to transfer practical dermatological knowledge. The program consisted of expert talks from two renowned dermatologists from the University Clinic of Schleswig-Holstein, as well as a detailed insight into the neurodermatitis research at Beiersdorf.

Dr. Gitta Neufang, Head of Medical Management Global Pharmacy Brands, addressed the assembly with regard to the Eucerin range and said, “We are striving to develop skin care products that are relevant to your patients.”

The new academy has a 28-employee team to support operations and will advertise Eucerin products, keeps close contact with doctors and clinics and roll out the continuing and further education programs of the Unna Academy.
