Beiersdorf is set to invest BR300 million to expand its Itatiba-based Nivea plant, which lies on the outskirts of Sao Paolo, Brazil, according to a report published by Cosmeticos.
The extension is expected to be fully operational by 2019’s close and will generate more than 60 new jobs. The location has strategic importance for the group, being well placed for distribution and Beiersdorf is hoping that the timely expansion will leave it well placed to profit from the growth forecast for the market over the next five years.
“This investment reaffirms the importance of Brazil to the group’s business and also our vision for the future,” Beiersdorf representative Christian Geotz told Cosmeticos.
