Beiersdorf restructures Communications and Sustainability department

THE WHAT? Beiersdorf has announced a restructure of its Communications and Sustainability department.

THE DETAILS The German cosmetics manufacturer has created a new Corporate Communications and Government Relations unit, effective September 1, 2020, and named Anke Schmidt Head.

Meanwhile, the Group Sustainability department will become independent as of July, overseen by Zhengrong Liu, member of Beiersdorf’s AG’s Executive Board responsible for human resources and led by Jean-Francois Pascal.

Schmidt joins from BASF where she is currently the Head of Corporate Communications and Government Relations, and replaces Hollmann-Peters who is due to retire at the end of August.

“During the last three decades, Inken Hollmann-Peters has held a number of important managerial positions in the areas of marketing, sustainability, and corporate communications and accomplished much for our company. Beiersdorf would like to thank her for all of the extremely successful work she performed and wishes her all of the best in the future,” Stefan De Loecker, Beiersdorf CEO, said.

“We are very pleased that we could attract such an exceptional communications manager as Anke Schmidt to succeed her at Beiersdorf. Drawing on her expertise and international experience, Anke Schmidt will move our C.A.R.E.+ agenda forward in years to come.”

THE WHY? With 24 years at BASF under her belt, Schmidt brings a wealth of experience to the role. The new structure, says Beiersdorf, reflects its determination to strengthen and expand its commitment to society, the environment and people.
