THE WHAT? Beiersdorf is marking World Environment Day with sustainability innovations in the Nivea Sun and Nivea Lip Care categories and a refillable packaging solution for its Eucerin brand.
THE DETAILS The Nivea Sun assortment has been optimized in terms of packaging and formula, with UV filters octinoxate and oxybenzone eliminated and bottles featuring 50 percent recycled material for the Sun Protect & Moisture line.
Nivea Lip Crae, meanwhile, has been reworked with plastic replaced with cardboard packaging, reduced energy consumption in the production process and lower CO2 emissions in transport. The new range will hit the German market in September this year.
Eucerin, meanwhile, has launched a refillable jar for its Hyaluron Filler Day and Night Cream, saving 90 percent of plastic compared to the previous packaging.
