Boots No7 celebrates 80th anniversary with Nottingham exhibition

Boots’ popular private label range No7 is marking its 80th anniversary with a dedicated exhibition at the Lakeside Arts center in Nottingham, UK. 80 Years of Making Up the Modern Women will be displayed in the Weston Gallery from January 15 to April 17.

The exhibition features previously unseen material from Boots’ archives charting key moments in the brand’s history from its launch in 1935 to its present-day status as an internationally renowned beauty brand.

Jointly curated by Dr Richard Hornsey, Lecturer in Modern British History at The University of Nottingham, Boots Archives and Manuscripts and Special Collections at The University of Nottingham, the exhibition tells the tale of No7 from the perspective of the women who have used its products, from wartime austerity to 1960s technicolor and beyond – to the age of purity and efficacy.
