Brazil and Chile sign bilateral trade agreement

Brazil and Chile have entered into a free trade agreement that covers some 17 areas of e-commerce as well as eliminating data and roaming charges for those using smartphones in either of the two countries, according to a report published by BN Americas.

The new agreement provides consumers with increased consumer protection for their internet purchases.

“The new agreement will boost trade and investment flows between Brazil and Chile in the sectors of both goods and services,” said Brazil’s foreign ministry in a statement, per BN Americas. “It will also be a vector of approximation between Mercosur and the Pacific Alliance, strengthening the regional integration.”
