THE WHAT? British TV channel the BBC has announced a new series, set to launch on BBC Three, which aims to debunk misconceptions about popular skin conditions such as eczema and acne.
THE DETAILS The six-part show will show will focus on a slew of young people that will meet with leading experts in a specialist clinic, with the episodes focusing on the mental toil skin conditions can have on sufferers.
Conditions will include a port wine stain, cysts and acne, with one patient likening her acne to having ‘thousands of bugs running underneath her skin.’
THE WHY? The show aims to place the spotlight on the plethora of skin conditions young people have to cope with and how treatment can create hope and change for the sufferers.
According to the BBC website, “These dedicated doctors take on some of the most chronic skin conditions including acne, psoriasis, eczema and alopecia. In tackling one of the most talked about topics for young people head on, the results reveal life-changing moments for many.”
