The Clorox Company has reported $191 million in overall profit, with the main driver being personal care brand Burt’s Bees.
The beeswax-based cosmetics line is part of Clorox’s lifestyle line and reported mid-single-digit volume and sales gains, according to the company. Products boosting the brand’s sales include the renewal face care line, which launched a year ago, as well as the popularity of strength towellettes.
CEO Benno Dorer used the Durham-based brand as a stand out example of the company’s plans, and is stepping up investment to further growth for the cosmetics line. The company is vamping up TV campaigns and international opportunities, as well as focussing on the new range of colour lipsticks.
In other financial news for the company, segment volume and sales were flat in the quarter.
