CBA to manage its own power generation assets

THE WHAT? Companhia Brasileira de Aluminio (CBA) has announced that it will create a specific business unit to manage its energy self-generation assets.

THE DETAILS The company’s 21 hydroelectric plants are currently managed by Votorantim Energia in a service provision contract, which comes to an end early next year. The transfer of the management of the assets will be made gradually until January, 2022.

THE WHY? The move reinforces the company’s position as a self-producer of energy, providing a surety of supply.
