Chanel is set to launch a new line of handbags and a fragrance inspired by its founder, Gabrielle ‘Coco’ Chanel, according to a report published by the Financial Times. The fragrance will be the first all-new women’s scent to be launched by the French fashion house in 15 years.
Gabrielle Chanel is due to hit shelves in the fall, and will be a fifth more expensive than its stablemates.
“Fragrances and make-up led the growth in 2016, with the success of the launch of No5 L’Eau, growing No5 by more than 20 percent, and the launch of Lucia Pica’s first audacious collection in her new role as Global Creative Designer for Make-up and Colours,” Christine Dagousset, Presdient of Fragrance and Beauty revealed to the Financial Times. “Our ambition with the launch of Gabrielle Chanel in the fall is to further consolidate our unmatched leadership in fragrances worldwide.”
