US-based multinational Colgate-Palmolive has inaugurated its first India-based toothbrush production unit this week, located 55km from Chennai.

The site has the production capacity for 220 million toothbrushes and is part of a Rs 450 crore investment. Set on 25 acres of investment land, the oral care company proposes to increase the production capacity at the site to 600 million toothbrushes in the future.

Fabian T Garcia, Chief Operating Officer at Colgate-Palmolive said, “I am happy to inaugurate Colgate’s very first toothbrush production unit of India in Sri City.
