Conde Nast opens tech lab in Bengaluru

THE WHAT? Conde Nast has announced the launch of a Technology Lab in Bengaluru, India. As part of the launch, the publishing house will recruit some 60 employees this year, expanding to a team of 300 by 2021’s close.

THE DETAILS The Lab will be charged with building the ‘next generation of digital content platforms and experiences’ across Conde Nast’s portfolio. Sudhir Rao, Head of Conde Nast Global Product & Technology India will lead the new unit.

“As we strengthen our digital capabilities to help better serve our consumers globally, we are building a new team in Bengaluru to support this goal. We are excited by the pool of talent that is available to us in the region and with the leadership of Sudhir, I am confident that this team will play a hugely significant role in enhancing our technology capabilities globally,” commented Sanjay Bhakta, Chief Product and Technology Officer, Condé Nast.

THE WHY? Conde Nast Technology Lab has been set up to meet the organisation’s increasing product, design, engineering and technology needs, and to support the creation of world-class digital consumer experiences, the media brand owner said – or in other words, if ever there was a sign that print is dead…
