Cosmax Indonesia awarded halal certification

South Korean ODM beauty company Cosmax has been awarded halal certification for its Indonesian subsidiary PT Cosmax Indonesia.

The certification – granted by halal certification body Majelis Ulama Indonesia – will now allow the company to make a headway into what is thought to be a sought after and growing sector of the beauty market.

Majelis Ulama Indonesia is one of the top three worldwide halal certification bodies and is widely accepted across 40 countries. Cosmax gained the certification for its Indonesian subsidiary by adhering to strict guides for halal products and contains zero harmful ingredients.

The company is said to be keen to tap into the growing number of Islamic female consumers seeking cosmetics that have the seal of approval for their faith.

Lee Kun-il, head of PT Cosmax Indonesia, said, “PT Cosmax Indonesia, with its international halal certification, will do its best as an export base for the company making inroads into global halal market to meet consumer demands on halal products in the world including South East Asia and Middle East.”
