Italy’s cosmetics brands are hoping to raise awareness of the Made in Italy camp across the pond in America, according to a report published by Il Sole 24.
The US accounted for 6.5 percent of Italian cosmetics exports in 2015, up 31.2 percent on 2014’s figure and the new project, spearheaded by Cosmetica Italia, is designed to grow that figure still more with a host of promotional activities.
The trade body is also looking to boost cosmetics exports to Iran and Colombia, exhibiting for the first time at Tehran’s Beauty & Clean and Belleza y Salud in Bogota.
Cosmetica Italia has also launched a new directory, Buy Italian Cosmetics, which allows Italian beauty brands to post a profile on the trade body’s website free of charge, which can then be searched by foreign distributors.
