Cosmetics Europe has appointed John Chave as the new Director-General, effective from July 1.
Chave has been Secretary General of the PGEU, the European association representing pharmacists and pharmacy owners, since 2006. As Secretary General, he was responsible for all aspects of the policy and management of the Association including members in 34 European countries.
Chave worked with PGEU members to achieve positive outcomes for the pharmaceutical sector on several pieces of legislation including the Patient Rights Directive, the Recognition of Professional Qualifications Directive, the Pharmacovigilance Directive, the Tobacco Products Regulation, the Falsified Medicines Directive and the Good Distribution Practice Guidelines.
