Coty creates Chief Digital Officer role, and names Chief Commercial Officer

THE WHAT? Coty has announced two additions to its leadership team with the appointments of Isabelle Bonfanti as Chief Commercial Officer and Jean-Denis Mariani to the newly created role of Chief Digital Officer.

THE DETAILS Bonfanti is known for her ability to transform and develop brands, having worked with Durieu Group and Huawei in consultant roles over the last two years. Prior to that she held a series of Director roles at Hermes over a career spanning nine years, after joining the Birkin designer from L’Oréal. Bonfanti will replace Edgar Huber, who is stepping down after five years at the company.

Mariani joins the US beauty behemoth from LVMH-owned Guerlain where he served as Chief Digital Officer, responsible for e-business, CRM, content, digital marketing, innovation, analytics, social insights and customer care. His appointment is effective November 1.

THE WHY? Sue Y. Nabi, Chief Executive Officer of Coty, said, “I am delighted to announce the appointments of Isabelle and Jean-Denis. I have followed Isabelle’s career closely over the years and am very impressed with her skillset and deeply strategic approach. Her track record of successfully developing make-up and skin care brands, particularly in Asia, makes her a perfect fit for this role.

Coty is now making strides in developing a digital offering that is truly best in class. Jean-Denis’ brand-building expertise and track record of success across the world makes him a fantastic addition to our executive leadership team.”
