Coty Professional sets up fund to help hairdressers

THE WHAT? Coty’s Professional Beauty division has set up a fund of some US$200,000 to help beauty businesses affected by the COVID-19 crisis, according to a report published by Allure.

THE DETAILS Hairstylists and manicurists will be able to apply for US$1000 grants via the existing Hairdresser at Heart program. Beauty professionals will be free to decide how to spend the money, be it investing in training, paying for premises or tools.

“We know the power of artists supporting artists, and with each of these 200 relief checks, we’re helping you cushion the burden of lost business, educational investment, and more,” the site reads, per Allure.

THE WHY? Coty’s professional products division depends on the survival of the professionals who purchase its products – so it’s in its interests to support its customers during closures.
