THE WHAT? Croda has announced the appointment of John Ramsey as a Non-Executive Director, effective January 1, 2020, replacing Alan Ferguson who is due to retire in April. Existing Board Member and Chair of the Remuneration Committee, Helena Ganczakowski will take on the role of Senior Independent Director.
THE DETAILS Ramsey served as CFO of Syngenta from 2007 to 2016 and is a chartered accountant. He is a member of the supervisory board at Koninklijke DSM and a Non-Executive Director of G4S and RHI Magnesita.
Ramsey will be appointed to the Audit, Nomination and Remuneration Committees and will take over as Chair of the Audit Committee once Ferguson retires on April 23, 2020.
“John’s appointment in January 2020 will allow for a period of hand over before he takes the role as Audit Committee Chair in April 2020,” said Anita Frew, Chair of Croda International.

THE WHY? Ramsey’s wealth of financial, international and sector experience, not to mention his life sciences background and 10-years living and working in Asia, will be of benefit to the Croda Board.
