Dabur cements position in African personal care market with two acquisitions

The Dabur Africa subsidiary of Dabur India has announced the acquisition of two new companies in the African market, D and A Cosmetics Proprietary Ltd and Atlanta Body & Health Products Proprietary Ltd.

The country, which is said to be consolidating its presence in the growing African personal care market, paid a sum of 47 million rand for D and A Cosmetics Proprietary and 2 million rand for Atlanta Health Products Proprietary.

Boosting the company within the African market, D and A Cosmetics Proprietary specialises in manufacturing, packaging and sales of personal care and health products under the name Long and Lasting. The company sells to South Africa, Namibia, Switzerland, Botsonia and Lesotho through wholesalers and retailers.

Meanwhile, according to a company statement, Atlanta is, “engaged in the business of sales and distribution of Long and Lasting brand products for salons in South Africa.”

The recent purchases follows other African business acquisitions from Dabur last year, with the company buying the personal care, hair care and creams businesses of CTL Group of Companies last November and Discaria Trading in July last year.
