Dabur enters South African market with Discaria acquisition

Indian personal care manufacturer Dabur has purchased the South African cosmetics firm Discaria Trading in a bid to break into the South African beauty market.

Acquired for an undisclosed sum, Discaria has manufacturing operations in Nigeria and Egypt, which produces products for the North and East African markets.

Speaking in a filing, Dabur said, “The company’s wholly-owned subsidiary Dabur International has acquired 100% share capital of Discaria Trading in South Africa. Accordingly, Discaria has become a step down wholly-owned subsidiary company of Dabur India.”
