Dabur India devalues two South African cosmetics acquisitions

Dabur India has dropped the value of two South African beauty companies it is due to acquire, D&A Cosmetics and Atlanta Body & Health Products, ahead of the completion of the sale.

D&A Cosmetics will now be purchased for 40.27 million rand instead of 47.94 million rand, while Atlanta Body & Health Products, which will be acquired for 1.73 million rand as opposed to 2.06 million.

In other amendments to the transactions, both companies will now be purchased by Dabur South Africa step-down subsidiary Dermoviva Skin Essentials Inc – another subsidiary majority owned by AJ Bodenstein.

The two acquisitions will expand Dabur’s foothold in the South African market following its entry into the market in July 2016 with the purchase of South African cosmetics manufacturing and trading firm Discaria.
