Dior teams up with Meitu to reach Chinese shoppers

THE WHAT? Dior has partnered with Meitu to launch an AI-powered skin-testing tool dubbed Dior Skin ID, according to a report published by KrAsia.

THE DETAILS The LVMH-owned brand’s new widget will run on Meitu’s Xiuxiu app and produces a report on skin condition based on analysis of the user’s face, before suggesting products accordingly and directing shoppers to Dior’s Chinese e-commerce platform.

THE WHY? With shoppers still reluctant to visit in store, even where they are open, diagnostic tolls and try-on facilities have become key to converting browsers to shoppers.
