THE WHAT? Dollar General has announced it is to sell CBD-based beauty and personal care products in more than 1000 stores across Kentucky and Tennessee, according to a report by Reuters.
THE DETAILS The products on offer will be topical items such as bath bombs, bath salts and face masks, with no plans to stock ingestible items.
Dollar General plans to expand the product range across seven more states by spring 2020.
THE WHY? With the demand for cannabinoid-based beauty continuing to rise, Dollar General is capitalizing on a lucrative trend.
Dollar General Chief Merchandising Officer Jason Reiser said, “Our decision to offer CBD products is based on customer interests or demands.”
