Elle China Editor-in-Chief Nicole Xue to leave the publication after three years 

THE WHAT? Elle China Editor-in-Chief Nicole Xue is set to leave the Hearst-owned publication after almost three years, according to WWD.com.

THE DETAILS An Elle China member of staff is said to have confirmed her departure, which was reportedly revealed to team members last week. 

While a successor is yet to be named, Sujia Zhuge, Deputy Editorial Director of Elle China and Editor in Chief and Publisher of SuperElle, Elle’s sister publication, is said to be a frontrunner for the role. 

THE WHY? According to WWD.com, Xue’s resignation comes amidst a strategy shift from Hearst Greater China region CEO Daisy Wang, who was appointed in 2019.
