Colgate Palmolive has announced ‘solid organic sales growth’ for the third quarter of 2015 with worldwide organic sales up 5 percent, led by a strong performance in emerging markets. Sales in North America were driven by new product launches for an overall increase of 0.5 percent.
Net income rose 34 percent to reach US$726 million for the third quarter of 2015. However, revenue dropped from US$4.37 billion in 3Q 2014 to US$3.99 billion, below analysts’ expectations.
“In the face of challenging macroeconomic conditions worldwide, we are pleased to have achieved another quarter of strong organic sales growth, driven by positive unit volume growth and higher pricing,” said Ian Cook, Chairman, President and CEO at Colgate Palmolive.
