Estée Lauder Companies announces further leadership changes as it looks to ‘run and transform’

THE WHAT? The Estée Lauder Companies (ELC) has announced further leadership changes with the appointment of Andrew Ross as Executive Vice President and Daniel Mahler to the new position of Senior Vice President, Global Transformation and Category Leadership.

THE DETAILS As part of his role Ross will lead Strategy, New Business Development and Integration, and report jointly to Fabrizio Freda, President and Chief Executive Officer, and Tracey T. Travis, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. 

Tasked with leveraging his entrepreneurial abilities to ‘deliver acquisition value creation through an end-to-end process with clear accountability and enterprise governance,’ Ross will also remain as a member of the company’s Executive Leadership Team. 

Mahler will also become a member of the Executive Leadership Team, with his new appointment set to ‘further elevate the company’s dedicated Transformation capability.’

Ross and Mahler will work together in a bid to align transformational priorities to ELC’s corporate strategy as well as help shape its leadership with new business models, e-commerce and consumer engagement, according to ELC. 

THE WHY? The two appointments are said to enable ELC’s ‘eye to the future’ and strengthen its business strategy and ability to ‘run and transform.’

ELC stated in a press release, “The complementary evolution of Andrew’s and Daniel’s respective roles marks the next chapter in The Estée Lauder Companies’ ability to accelerate its strategy, drive value creation, anticipate and adapt quickly to change and manage for long-term leadership.
