Estée Lauder expands Double Wear collection to 56 shades

Estée Lauder has announced the expansion of its Double Wear Stay-In-Place Makeup collection from 42 to 56 shades.

Having enlisted Misty Copeland, the first black woman to be named as principal dancer for American Ballet Theatre, to front the campaign, the new expansion highlights the company’s desire to create a range of shades available to all skin colourings.

Speaking of the problems women of color have when it comes to finding the right make-up shades, Copeland told PopSugar, “It can be challenging, yes, but I’m relieved that’s no longer the case.
“Our differences are to be celebrated and embraced. The beauty industry making this shift is all positive. Inclusivity is the gateway to equality and I will always be a champion of that approach.”

Copeland also currently stars in a new video by Estée Lauder named ‘Confidence is Beautiful’.

She continued, “I’ve always felt that it’s OK to be different and it’s OK to be me, and even with the foundation that I’m using that I‘m staying true to my skin and my color and I want to look like me, and I think that’s beautiful.”
