Evonik has become the first specialty chemicals company to join the Industrial Internet Consortium (IIC). The IIC is a global public-private organization formed to speed up the adoption and enablement of the Industrial Internet of Things.

Through its membership, Evonik will receive access to a partner network that develops new technologies for the Industrial Internet.

“We want to exploit digitalization to develop new, innovative solutions for our customers. Our membership of the IIC will provide valuable stimuli in this direction,” said Henrik Hahn, who heads up Evonik’s digital unit.

Added Richard Soley, Executive Director of the IIC, “With Evonik we have one of the world leaders in specialty chemicals among our members. Evonik has extensive knowledge and networks in different customer industries, and also in the scientific world. This makes it very attractive for our members and the IIC.”
