FaceCake launches cosmetics mobile app GlamScout

FakeCake Marketing Technologies has launched a new ColorMatch visual search app GlamScout, an app that allows users to recreate looks from photographs.

Adding to its current portfolio of augmented reality apps, such as the Swivel Virtual Dressing Room, makeover app ShadeScout and online shopping app CAKE, GlamScout allows users to virtually copy street styles or those from the runway by identifying make-up shades.

The app then gives the user product recommendations based on the photo used. A multi-category search function is available, giving the user thousands of products to choose from various price points with mass-market and prestige brands available. Products can then be purchased directly through the app, with slogans for the various price points including the ‘Glam Look’ and the ‘Glam For Less Look’.

Users can also virtually try the products they’ve chosen before purchasing.
