A series of talented young women made Forbes Africa’s Class of 2017 30 under 30 entrepreneurs list, according to a report published by The African Exponent, among them the owners of the region’s most promising beauty brands.
Women make-up a third of the high-profile list, including Tanzanian Upendo Shuma, Founder of Lavie Makeup Studio and South African Jennifer Glodik who has opened 65 salons across South Africa in the past five years under her Diva Slimming and Aesthetics Centre banner.
Also named were Sandra Mwiihangele, who hails from Namibia, and is the brains behind Kiyomisandz Beauty Products; and Nigerian Shakeela Tolasade Williams, who’s hair extensions business, Sade Hair, has gone global, with distributors in Canada, Alberta and Sierra Leone.
