Firmenich has appointed Dr. Bérangère Magarinos-Ruchat as Global Head of Sustainability, who has been promoted from her previous role as VP Sustainability Partnerships.

Magarinos-Ruchat is hoped to reinforce the company’s ‘leadership in sustainability’ through her vast experience in areas such as forming collaborations to address key societal challenges, while also creating partnerships with other organizations such as UN Global Compact and The World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD) to strengthen the company’s impact.

Gilbert Ghostine, CEO Firmenich, said, “I deeply believe that business is a force for good and a catalyst for social progress. With Bérangère’s expertise and passion for sustainability, I look forward to taking our legacy of responsible business to the next level for the benefit of both present and future generations.”

Magarinos-Ruchat continued, “I am deeply honoured to be leading our Sustainability agenda, in close collaboration with our key partners to make a positive societal impact. I would like to acknowledge my colleagues for their high level of engagement as we shape the next chapter of our Sustainability journey together.”

Acknowledged this year for her sustainability commitment, Magarinos-Ruchat was recognized by the WBCSD’s Leading Women Awards for her leadership in advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs) while in 2015 was named Head of Sustainability of the Year by Ethical Corporation.
