Former Neutrogena Chairman, Lloyd Cotsen, passed away at home in California last week aged 88, according to a report published by The Daily Mail.
Cotsen built Neutrogena – his father-in-law’s company – into a global brand before selling it to Johnson & Johnson in 1994 for US$924 million.
Cotsen, a passionate collector, devoted his portion of the proceeds to his hobby, donating several important collections to museums and libraries and funding a number of charitable causes, including his eponymous foundation, which provides teaching fellowships and grants to elementary schools in California.
