Game changer: Kao USA ushers in sustainable personal care line, MyKirei

THE WHAT? Kao USA is debuting a sustainable personal care line today, on Earth Day. The Japanese manufacturer’s MyKirei by Kao is described as a comprehensive collection of products founded on the credence that caring for ourselves, our society and the world around us makes life more beautiful.

THE DETAILS The range comprises a shampoo, conditioner and hand wash and will be available to buy via Amazon.

The products boast vegan-friendly, plant-based formulas that are 95 percent biodegradable and contained in a ‘game-changing’ package that uses up to 50 percent less plastic and gains its rigidity through air fill with a design aimed at minimising waste. Both package and pump can be recycled via Terracycle.

THE WHY? Kirei translates as beauty, cleanliness, simplicity, balance and sustainability, according to Karen Franck, President, Kao USA. The range is designed to bring the ‘Kirei’ sensibility to the western consumer.
