Game, set and match: Serena Williams to launch new cosmetics line

Tennis superstar Serena Williams is set to develop a new cosmetics line, with the famous athlete having filed legal documents to extend the trademark Aneres for a beauty range, according to TMZ.com.

The Aneres – ‘Serena’ spelt backwards – name is already used on a fashion range created by Williams, which is now speculated to be expanded into a cosmetics line of the same moniker.

While Williams’ representatives were unavailable for comment, the news has already begun to generate interest amongst fans on social media. One comment pitted the tennis star against the likes of Fenty Beauty and Kylie Cosmetics, stating, “Aneres is back! Aneres and Fenty Beauty about to have the makeup game on lock. Kylie shouldn’t even bother coming back from maternity leave.”

The range is set to feature skin care products, including make-up removers, make-up kits, soap, lipsticks and glosses, eyeshadow, eyeliner and mascara, as well as colognes and perfumes.
