L’Oréal-owned Garnier Ambre Solaire has teamed up with supermarket chain Tesco to launch its first Sun Safe UV patch into the UK.
Developed in Sweden, the patch will launch in April and will be given away with 1 million bottles of Ambre Solaire sunscreen. Designed to work with all skin types, the UV patch is hoped to promote better sun awareness across the country.
Charlotte Blanchard, General Manager Garnier UK & Ireland says, “We are proud to be partnering with Tesco to launch our Sun Safe UV Patch. We have a responsibility to help the people in the UK understand the dangers of UV exposure, and we hope that with this device we are providing people with a simple and truly visual way of understanding the UV levels we are exposed to.”
The single-use patches have been designed to work as a transfer onto the skin, with the colour changing as UV exposure increases.
Sinead Bell, Category Director at Tesco, continued, “As one of the biggest providers of suncare, we’re proud to have worked together with L’Oréal to offer customers this new, helpful sun patch on bottles of Garnier Ambre Solaire sun screen. With the Sun Safe UV Patch it is now easier than ever to help families understand UV levels and exposure.”
