THE WHAT? L’Oréal-owned Garnier has teamed up with Plastics for Change to open a plastic waste collection facility in Chennai, India, according to a report published by The Print.
THE DETAILS The center is hoping to collect some 2,000 tons of plastic that would otherwise end up littering our oceans and will empower the lives of some 2,000 people from local communities. The packaging collected will be used to produce the 100 percent recycled plastic bottles for the brand’s Ultra Doux range.
Plastic collection kiosks will be set up in 20 locations across Mumbai, Chennai and Delhi to encourage consumers to dispose of their waste responsibly.

Adrien Koskas, Global Brand President – Garnier, explains, “As one of the world’s leading mass beauty brands, Garnier has the unique opportunity to help create a positive impact on the planet by leading the way towards sustainable beauty that is accessible to all.
