German cosmetic brush, packaging and applicator manufacturer GEKA is set to expand its presence in the Asian market with the opening of its own production plant in Shanghai.
The company will be working with its parent company Sulzer and incorporate production facilities for the beauty segment in the Shanghai plant, which has been in place since 1991.
GEKA has introduced the modular BBS system, already in place in the U.S. and Germany, which is now heavily in demand in China.
According to a press release, “The BBS consists of an extensive product catalog of applications developed in-house and packaging solutions with endless combination options; these can be produced in a short time using a variety of plastic production technologies (injection molding 1K, 2K, Moltrusion, sandwich and IBM) and then be assembled ready for filling.”
The company has stated that the BSS range offers the Chinese cosmetics market a solution for predicted ongoing demand for time-to-market solutions that can be ‘implemented quickly for newly developed cosmetics.’
