The President of Ghana Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has appealed to the board of Unilever Ghana in a bid to persuade them to relocate production back to the country, according to a report published by Business Ghana.
Over the last few years, Unilever gradually moved production to Nigeria and Cote d’Ivoire amid economic uncertainty in Ghana but the government has now pledged to create an enabling environment for the private sector, reducing the administrative burden to help businesses become more competitive.
“Ghana should be at the center of producing things again in the region and on the continent,” said Akufo-Addo.
